About The Position

DDI's Marketing Communications Intern is a motivated and enthusiastic college student interested in gaining hands-on experience in various aspects of marketing and communications within a nonprofit environment. The intern will work closely with our marketing and communications team to support the development and execution of strategies aimed at enhancing brand awareness, driving stakeholder engagement, and supporting internal communications. 8 hours/week for 16 weeks $16.50/hour.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn).
  • A proactive and self-motivated attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Creativity and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of engaging content for various platforms, including social media, website copy, blog posts, email marketing, and presentations.
  • Help manage and execute social media strategies, including scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and researching industry trends.
  • Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, and customer behavior to inform marketing strategies.
  • Support the creation and execution of email marketing campaigns, including list segmentation and performance tracking.
  • Assist with media outreach, press release drafting, and event coordination (if applicable).
  • Provide general administrative support to the marketing and communications team, including scheduling meetings, organizing materials, and managing databases.
  • Assist in tracking and analyzing marketing and communication campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Support internal communication efforts, such as drafting employee newsletters or intranet content (if applicable).
  • Assist with various marketing and communications projects as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • $16.50/hour for 8 hours/week for 16 weeks.
