About The Position

We are hiring immediately for a full-time MARKETING ASSISTANT position. We are seeking a hospitality-minded marketing professional to partner with our dining operations team, on-site with Florida Fresh Dining at the University of Florida. Our Marketing Assistant must possess exceptional communication and presentation skills and the ability to multitask on a variety of projects simultaneously. They will ensure accurate distribution of pertinent information both internally to all departments as well as to clients and related vendors. Our Marketing Assistant is an adept communicator and is a passionate, proactive partner to the leadership team. This marketing professional primarily functions as a graphic designer. The role is also responsible for clerical functions and administrative support of food service programs.

Requirements

  • Must have prior marketing experience with graphic design experience.
  • Must possess exceptional communication and presentation skills and the ability to multitask on a variety of projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on support at events, unit setup, and program implementation
  • Design marketing materials for campus dining programs, including digital signage, social media graphics, posters, menus, and promotional campaigns.
  • Support dining marketing and operations teams by translating promotions, events, and meal plan initiatives into clear, engaging visuals.
  • Follow university brand standards while maintaining visual consistency across all dining communications.
  • Answer telephones and direct inquiries in a professional and client centric manner.
  • Maintain confidential personnel files.
  • Assist management staff in preparing confidential employment and labor relations documents, including but not limited to proposed disciplinary notices.
  • Assist with staffing, including finding staff when employees call out on short notice.
  • Work effectively and maintain good working relationships with co-workers, school personnel, administrators, student's parents and Supervisor.
  • Complete and maintain accurate and up to date records of students eligible for free and reduced priced lunches if applicable.
  • Enter weekly cash sales and meal counts using computer.
  • Perform daily bank deposit reconciliation.
  • Process vendor invoices for payment - using computer, making sure addition is correct and checking item prices against bid specifications, making sure there is no discrepancy in pricing.
  • Perform monthly vendor statement reconciliation.
  • Prepare monthly state claim form for reimbursement.
  • Assist in preparation of end of month financial reports.
  • Attend in-service and/or safety meetings as required.
  • Maintain clean and safe work environment; ability to perform job safely.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
