About The Position

We are looking for a creative Marketing & Sales Specialist to become the voice and lens of our brand, to use that voice to promote and drive awareness, and to capitalise on that awareness by driving sales activity for both our Service/Upgrades business as well as our Full Builds, across both Vanlife Customs portfolio and Contravans builds. As our first full-time hire in this capacity, you will take ownership of functions previously managed by our owner and external agencies. You will be responsible for capturing the story of our builds through high-quality video and photography, while simultaneously managing the digital strategies that drive our growth and drive through to our sales funnel, with real results. This is a dynamic, "Swiss Army Knife" role for a storyteller with a passion for what we do, a solid knowledge of how to drive real conversion into sales, and a preparedness to learn a technical edge. Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience in marketing, content creation, or a similar hybrid role.
  • Proven proficiency in photography and videography, including editing software (Adobe Premiere, Lightroom, Photoshop, or similar).
  • Experience managing Google Ads campaigns, including keyword research and budget optimization.
  • Strong writing skills for website copy, email newsletters, and social captions with an ability to adopt a brand voice.
  • Experience managing a content calendar and juggling multiple campaigns simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently to identify content opportunities within the shop without needing constant direction.
  • Effective communication skills to work cross-functionally with builders, the sales team, and leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with email marketing platforms (HubSpot, Campaign Monitor).
  • Basic web management skills (Squarespace).
  • Knowledge of marketing practices and strategies
  • Passion for marketing to the outdoors, travel, or the vanlife community.
  • Experience working in the automotive, outdoor industry, or a custom fabrication environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, shoot, and edit high-quality video content and photography of our builds, shop processes, and finished vehicles.
  • Produce engaging content for various platforms, including YouTube walk-throughs, Instagram Reels/Stories, and website galleries.
  • Interview technicians and designers to extract technical details and turn them into consumer-facing stories.
  • Manage the content library, ensuring all assets are organized and accessible for the sales and marketing teams.
  • Take ownership of internal Google and Facebook Ads management; monitor budgets, keywords, and performance to drive qualified leads.
  • Develop and execute email marketing campaigns (newsletters, nurture sequences) to engage leads and past clients.
  • Update and maintain website copy and imagery to ensure our online presence reflects our current capabilities and SEO best practices.
  • Analyze marketing data to report on ROI, lead acquisition costs, and campaign performance.
  • Manage the day-to-day publishing schedule across all social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, etc.).
  • Engage with our online community, responding to comments and DMs in a voice that reflects our brand values.
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing Manager to align social content with broader sales goals and product launches.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to create digital assets that assist in the sales process (brochures, one-sheets, video FAQs).
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging across all customer touchpoints.
  • Assist in capturing customer testimonials and delivery day experiences.
