About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a closely related field.
• Four (4) years of professional experience in journalism, public relations, or marketing.
• Valid Texas Class 'C' Driver's License or equivalent from another state by time of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Manage public information, marketing, outreach, education, development, and volunteer programs.
• Develop and communicate strategic initiatives.
• Plan, develop, and direct marketing, outreach, and education efforts.
• Create and present comprehensive public education programs for various audiences.
• Prepare and recommend the purchase of educational materials for programs.
• Oversee the volunteer program and enhance volunteer engagement.
• Organize plans for news conferences and major announcements.
• Provide public relations support through talking points, fact sheets, and other materials.
• Maintain relationships with internal and external partners and community donors.
• Uphold and protect brand standards.
• Oversee the development of advertising materials, social media presence, and events.
• Address customer and community concerns with effective solutions.
• Develop and manage press releases, media advisories, and informational communications.
• Oversee the department's website content and development.
• Manage the budget for marketing and public engagement programs.
• Serve as a media spokesperson and government liaison, responding to media inquiries and disseminating information.
