About The Position

The Marketing/Admissions Director Interim position involves managing the admissions process efficiently to ensure a positive experience for residents, families, and supporting staff. The role includes planning, directing, and monitoring the daily operations of the Admissions Department to meet budgeted resident census goals and ensure professional and efficient admissions. Responsibilities include admitting patients to the healthcare facility, screening patients against admission criteria, completing admission and financial responsibility forms, and collaborating with other facility departments to enhance the admissions experience. The director will also confirm insurance benefit coverage, coordinate support services, maintain a comprehensive understanding of facility services, oversee bed assignments, and maintain accurate records of bed availability. The position requires creating a warm and positive atmosphere, completing the resident intake process, and maintaining confidentiality of resident care information. Additionally, the director will assist in planning outreach events and update job knowledge through educational opportunities.

Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in health care or related field preferred.
  • Two years' Admissions experience preferred.
  • LVN or RN license preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite products.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and professional journals.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the admissions process to ensure a positive experience for residents and families.
  • Plan, direct, and monitor daily operations of the Admissions Department.
  • Admit patients by completing admission and financial responsibility forms.
  • Screen patients by comparing their condition to admission criteria.
  • Work collaboratively with leaders of other facility departments.
  • Confirm that all insurance benefit coverage meets standards of admissions.
  • Coordinate and arrange physical, social, emotional, and support services requirements.
  • Obtain applicant information by requesting completed applications and medical information.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of facility services for prospective residents.
  • Oversee patients' bed assignments and completion of preliminary paperwork.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth and positive emphasis.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Nursing and/or Case Manager for appropriate admissions.
  • Maintain and communicate accurate records of bed availability.
  • Initiate and maintain contacts with physicians, social workers, and discharge planners.
  • Attend daily stand-up meetings.
  • Assist in planning and execution of outreach events.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
