About The Position

The Market Technical Manager (MTM) - Data Center Operations at Digital Realty is responsible for overseeing the technical operations of mission-critical infrastructure facilities. This role involves managing various systems including telecom, security, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing for the company's property portfolio. The MTM will conduct site visits, perform audits, and ensure compliance with operational standards, while also managing construction projects and collaborating with internal and external teams. This position offers opportunities for career advancement into director or leadership roles.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) and a minimum of 10 years of related experience, or 15 years of data center related experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
• Expertise in the operations of critical MEP infrastructure, including UPS Systems and emergency generators.
• Excellent understanding of various infrastructure redundancy configurations.
• Comprehensive understanding of critical environment management and multi-tenant data center challenges.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and estimate costs of client installations.
• Advanced analytical and quantitative skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience developing operating and maintenance standards and project tracking/management documents.

Nice To Haves

• Experience using Microsoft Office tools like Excel, PowerPoint, and Word to create presentations and reports.
• Knowledge of applicable laws and ordinances in performing data, communications, and MEP projects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage technical, telecom, security, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems and operations for the Market property portfolio.
• Conduct facility site visits to audit and analyze current status, directing operations and engineering personnel to ensure compliance with established processes.
• Perform periodic audits of maintenance MOPs and equipment SOPs to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Collect and report operating metrics for sites to track and monitor performance and efficiency.
• Support site teams during construction, testing, and commissioning of new data centers to meet operational acceptance criteria.
• Manage relationships with customers, property management, and sales teams.
• Review drawings and perform site surveys to identify mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Manage construction projects for execution between internal and external customers.
