About The Position

The Market Risk Specialist role within the Corporate Market Risk Group (CMRG) at Wells Fargo focuses on the independent identification, monitoring, and credible challenge of market risks across the corporation. This position involves collaboration with various business partners to ensure accurate market risk measurements and reporting, particularly in the Rates, Commodities, and Foreign Exchange (FX) sectors.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in market risk, Capital Markets, desk analyst, trading, interest rate risk, or equivalent experience through work, training, military experience, or education.
• Foundational understanding of derivative pricing models and risk measurement calculations such as VaR, stress scenarios, and risk factor sensitivities.
• Strong technical and analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel VBA, SQL, and Python.
• Strong spoken and written communication skills.
• BS/BA degree or higher.

Nice To Haves

• Progress toward completion of professional designations such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Financial Risk Management (FRM).

Responsibilities

• Utilize market risk measures such as VaR, stress scenarios, and risk factor sensitivities to monitor, report, and constrain market risk exposures from trading activities.
• Maintain and enhance market risk reporting routines to effectively communicate risk concentrations and market risk limit usage.
• Perform periodic analysis of risk concentrations and provide updates to CMRG leadership on exposures and trading profit/loss sources.
• Provide analytical support for market risk mandate limit recalibrations and reviews.
• Collaborate with trading and other CIB business partners to ensure adequate market risk support for new business initiatives.
