In this role, the Director will lead a wide range of research initiatives from proposal through delivery, guiding high-impact studies that influence how millions of users engage with the platform daily. Requirements

  • 7+ years’ experience working in consumer insights, consumer research or in an insights role at an entertainment, media or technology company.
  • B.A./B.S. degree in areas such as Social Sciences, Business, Marketing, Market Research, Statistics, Economics or a related field.
  • An enthusiasm for research, data driven approaches, and strategic thinking.
  • In-depth understanding and experience with a range of complex qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
  • Proven experience nurturing and building relationships with clients, understanding their goals and ensuring we deliver on those and confidently providing strategic guidance to them.
  • Proven ability to manage, coach, and develop high-performing teams; skilled at delivering direct feedback, managing performance, setting goals, and growing talent over time.
  • Expert at working with data to identify trends and insights, including both structured (i.e. data and hard numbers) and unstructured (i.e. interviews and qualitative) data.
  • Advanced data visualization skills using tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs and Slides.
  • Experience with statistical significance testing, correlation analysis, multivariate analysis techniques (such as cluster/segmentation analysis) and conjoint and discrete choice analysis.
  • Strong writing skills where you can craft a story around data insights and clearly communicate key points in a succinct manner.
  • Great verbal communication skills and highly skilled at presenting to groups and sharing your point of view.
  • Genuinely interested in seeking information on the “whys,” always digging for more information to understand what makes consumers tick.
  • Internally-motivated who continuously strives to get things done well, regardless of challenges encountered.
  • Successfully manages time and multiple competing priorities to ensure deadlines are always met.
  • Hawk-eyed attention to detail – Errors don’t get past you and you are always focused on ensuring high levels of quality control and reporting.
  • Team player who is able to work collaboratively and harmoniously within a team and across teams.

  • Candidates must be based on the East Coast or willing to work East Coast hours.

Responsibilities

  • Drive all phases of custom mixed methods research projects, including proposal drafting, research design, questionnaire and discussion guide development, data analysis and storytelling.
  • Inform product evolution, content and communication strategy, as well as platform positioning, with a particular emphasis on advanced methods (e.g. segmentations, conjoint, discrete choice modeling, pricing studies and market sizing).
  • Translate research data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations through visual, creative and story-driven reports.
  • Oversee the full portfolio of research initiatives for this client, ensuring consistency and strategic alignment across projects; maintain continuity in audience definitions, frameworks, and key metrics to build a cohesive, cumulative body of insights that drives stronger decision-making over time.
  • Lead, develop, and manage a team of analysts and managers, providing clear, actionable feedback across all phases of project work; actively coach team members to deepen methodological expertise, elevate quality of deliverables, and drive consistent high performance.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to the client, building strong relationships, deeply understanding their business objectives, and driving successful project execution and long-term partnership growth.
  • Collaborate with senior team members and provide oversight to junior team members in coordinating logistics with internal and external operations teams (programming, fieldwork, facilities, moderators, data processing), and partner with these teams to drive projects forward on stringent timelines.
