Fitch Ratings is currently seeking a Market Research Associate Intern based out of our New York office. The Summer Intern Market Research Associate role is designed to be an eight-week internship to provide an understanding of the debt capital markets and ratings business. The role will support members of the US Corporate Business and Relationship Management (BRM) Team in managing and developing Fitch’s business relationships. Requirements

  • Rising senior at an accredited university, preferably working towards a degree in business, finance, economics, or other quantitatively focused field of study.
  • Self-starter who can understand objectives, work independently, and is highly motivated.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills along with an analytical aptitude.
  • Team oriented, with an ability to effectively build relationships.
  • High level of focus on work quality and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • The candidate should have strong analytical capabilities coupled with aspirations to develop marketing / business development acumen longer term.
  • A basic understanding of the debt capital markets and ratings business as well as some exposure to corporate credit analysis will be helpful.
  • Individuals must be self-sufficient and should have some familiarity with Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • The candidate will monitor fixed income market news and debt issuances, looking out for Fitch rating opportunities.
  • The candidate will be responsible for tracking deals in the market and maintaining internal reports and databases with company / target information.
  • The candidate will be responsible for assisting in the research, development, and preparation of marketing materials under guidance from members of the BRM team.
  • The candidate will be responsible for helping to maintain and enhance quantitative models and databases.
