The Market President will be responsible for the overall lending function of their assigned market while adhering to the Credit Union’s lending policies and procedures. Responsibilities include assisting the Credit Union in attaining production goals through active participation in sales management, referring business opportunities to appropriate teammates and lending officer calling programs. In addition, the Market President shall provide leadership, training and support to less experienced loan officers and other staff members. The position is also responsible for actively developing new and existing business relationships, receiving, reviewing, and evaluating business loan and business deposit requests. Meets with applicants to explain credit policies and to obtain loan information and documentation. Monitors and reviews construction loan projects. Assists in the collection of past due loans. Responsible for the completion of Annual Reviews for required relationships. In addition, ensure Annual Reviews of their staff are completed in a timely manner. Serves borrowers and prospective borrowers promptly and professionally. Provides general Credit Union information and cross sells services. Furthermore, the candidate must possess the analytical skills necessary to review both the financial and collateral data to ensure compliance with loan policy and procedures.

  • Leads sales efforts through growing business loans and business deposits for assigned market.
  • Solicits business loans and deposits from prospects in the Credit Union’s market area.
  • Solicits business loans and deposits from existing member businesses.
  • Cross sells Credit Union services.
  • Works with the Retail team to close and maintain business deposit relationships.
  • Assists in developing short and long-term goals and plans for the MBL department in their market area.
  • Achieves budgeted growth and profitability goals for their market area.
  • Meets with current or prospective members as needed on material credits to assist in evaluation of credit.
  • Answers questions and responds to requests from members, prospects, and professionals in a timely manner.
  • Keeps members, prospects and professionals informed of FSCU MBL products and services.
  • Explains reasons for loan denials and discusses alternative debt structures.
  • Maintains and projects the Credit Union's professional reputation.
  • Attends and participates in meetings and committees as required.
  • Keeps management informed of community activities and significant problems.
  • Initiates improvements in lending and funding practices.
  • Executes established operational goals and ensures corporate-wide objectives are met.
  • Responsible for the timely completion of required Annual Reviews within their portfolio.
  • Attends, prepares reports, and participates in loan committee meetings as needed.
  • Completes required reports and documentation.
  • Assumes responsibility for credit union MBL quality and risk management.
  • Stays informed regarding changes in lending standards and related legal requirements.
  • Manages, mentors, trains, develops, and directs MBL Officers and Loan Assistants.
  • Provides technical guidance to staff in the interpretation of data.
  • Recommends staffing levels and approves personnel actions such as hiring, terminations, promotions, and training.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Finance.
  • Minimum of five years of commercial management experience.
  • Knowledge of commercial lending programs, policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Understanding of financial analysis and determination of credit worthiness.
  • Excellent communication and public relations skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Solid interviewing skills.
  • Solid business development and successful negotiation skills.
  • Able to use financial calculator and related computer applications.
  • Real estate and origination background preferred.
