The Market Manager, Pet Food is responsible for all aspects of pet food account activity including interaction with customers, production facilities, customer service, administrative and accounts receivable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business, Marketing or related field ; or 3 to 5+ years of comparable work experience in an agriculture, ingredient or related field; or Equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Detail oriented; highly organized; self-motivated; ability to multi-task.
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • Agility in decision making.
  • Excellent communication skills with both internal and external customers.
  • Experience working in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Background in agricultural business/sales a plus.
  • Proficiency in Oracle sales, purchases and inventory management programs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manges the sale of finished product fats and/or meals
  • Provides oversight of customer service for finished product sales
  • Manages and addresses any quality issues associated with finished materials
  • Acts as point person on communication between suppliers/end users/our plant personnel.
  • Responsible for conversion margin management and forecasting on a monthly & quarterly basis
  • Negotiates contracts with customers
  • Works with Market Coordinators to manage inventories and logistics associated with plant and customer needs
  • Ensures all plant positions are completed as required by accounting and assist with financial closings
  • Coordinates trade show and conference schedules, meetings, etc.
  • Sell and prospect for potential new business.
  • Communicates with Darling's other lines of business which overlap with Pet Food activity
  • Other duties as assigned
