About The Position

Market Intelligence Interns will join the Market Intelligence division, working directly with the Director of Market Intelligence and a Data Architect to build out the Renaissance Analytics Engine (RAE) — the firm's proprietary data platform for competitive intelligence, market research, and business development. Interns will gain hands-on experience in a data product environment while getting direct exposure to how a consulting firm operates in the defense and aerospace sector. Daily activities will include converting analytical models into structured data, mapping entities across data sources, validating reference data from federal systems, and supporting the development of tools that allow consultants to interact with firm intelligence.

Requirements

  • Ability to be in the Washington, D.C. area from late May to August 2026
  • Pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related field (rising juniors, seniors, and graduate students encouraged)
  • Internship, work experience, or demonstrated interest in the aerospace, defense, security, or government services sector – OR – with a top consulting firm, investment bank, private equity, or venture capital firm
  • Strong written communication skills and comfort engaging with consulting professionals
  • Applicants must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Comfort working with Excel and familiarity with Python, SQL, or data modeling concepts
  • Interest in data science and analytics, with some experience working with structured or unstructured data
  • Curiosity, energy, positivity and the ability to work in teams in a dynamic environment

Responsibilities

  • Market Intelligence Interns participation in onboarding that covers the firm's data architecture, tooling stack, research methods, and sector orientation
  • Each intern will receive a mentor, ensuring individual attention and regular senior interaction
  • Interns will contribute directly to the build-out of internal firm IP — the work product is real and consequential
