About The Position

Crux is seeking a Market Intelligence Lead to support policy analysis, research initiatives, and client-facing insights across climate, energy, and sustainability issues. This role is ideal for someone who excels at delivering complex policy and market intelligence to sophisticated developer and lender audiences, grounding their thinking in hard data at the intersection of energy, finance, and climate policy. You’ll work closely with senior team members across the organization to brief project developers and investors on market and policy developments, conduct original research, and help translate findings into compelling written products for clients, partners, and public audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in public policy, economics, environmental studies, energy systems, or a related field preferred
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in policy research, analysis, consulting, or energy-focused investment firms
  • Strong understanding of U.S. financial markets; familiarity with tax credits (e.g., IRA), regulatory processes, or energy markets is required
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills — you can turn dense policy into something people actually want to read
  • Comfort working with data, spreadsheets, and policy trackers (basic quantitative skills required; advanced modeling a plus)
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Enormous self-starter with strong judgment and the ability to work independently while collaborating with a small team

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, analyze, and summarize climate, energy, and sustainability policy developments at the federal, state, and international levels
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research on topics such as clean energy deployment, tax credits, climate finance, and regulatory frameworks
  • Support the development of policy briefs, custom research reports, client memos, presentations, and thought leadership content
  • Synthesize complex legislation, regulations, and policy proposals into clear, concise, and actionable insights
  • Assist with data analysis, modeling inputs, and scenario assessments derived from owned and third-party data sources
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support client engagements and strategic advisory work
  • Support external engagement, including webinars, roundtables, and conference speaking as needed

Benefits

  • Be part of a mission-driven team working to accelerate climate solutions.
  • Opportunity to work with leading experts and innovators in the climate finance space.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
  • Flexible work arrangements and a supportive, collaborative culture.
