About The Position

The Market Hog Selector selects finisher hogs for sale by assessing body composition according to company standard operating procedures and estimates market hog weight to meet sales requirements while ensuring we follow schedules for the processing facility. Requirements

A clear and valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record (MVR) required.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical school preferred; minimum 1+ years’ swine production experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Assesses hog body composition in finishing sites to project sales of pigs according to marketing requirements.
Identifies and marks hogs to be moved or sold to the appropriate destination.
Delivers load movement paperwork to necessary farm sites in a timely fashion.
Communicates regularly with supervisor and production about group performance and provides data through written reports and email correspondence.
Counts inventory and number of pigs scheduled for sale as needed.
Assists other team members to effectively meet department and company goals.
