The Market Grille Express Clerk provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, reviews and fills customer orders for the day, handles food in a safe manner, and ensures the work area is always clean and neat.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• No education requirement.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience.
• Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction, copying figures, counting, and recording.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all customer interactions.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner.
• Makes an effort to learn customers’ names and address them by name whenever possible.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing products that are out of reach, loading or unloading heavy items, and passing along customer suggestions or requests.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call.
• Takes customer orders at the Market Grille counter.
• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Reviews orders for the day and handles food in a safe manner.
• Ensures that an adequate food supply is ready and on hand.
• Prepares and replenishes product as necessary.
• Checks in product, puts product away, and may review invoices.
• Runs the department registers and receives payment.
• Removes trash in a timely manner.
• Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
• Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
