About The Position

Georgetown Community Hospital is an acute care hospital with 75-beds offering a broad range of inpatient, outpatient, intensive care, surgical, emergency and diagnostic services. The position directs the department's activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives. The role involves developing and implementing departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements of the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.
  • Applicable work experience may be used in lieu of education.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Moderate computer skills including frequent use of electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, and graphics.
  • Ability to communicate complex information and interact with management.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously including task delegation, project oversight, and resource allocation.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
  • Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management.
  • Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
  • Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, ensuring compliance with allocated funding.
  • Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
  • Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Ensures department stays focused on their important role in the continuum of care.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
