About The Position

The Market Development Representative (MDR) at St. Luke's Health is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with community physicians to promote targeted hospital services and achieve growth goals. This role involves understanding service lines, executing sales strategies, and providing regular reports to leadership on sales activities and metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (4 years professional level) in lieu of degree.
  • Three years of sales experience, preferably in physician recruitment and/or medical/pharmaceutical sales.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to maintain good working relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and judgment in sensitive situations.
  • Strong follow-through and results tracking skills.
  • Ability to identify problems and collaborate on solutions with physicians and hospital management.
  • Ability to manage conflict and facilitate change processes.
  • Knowledge of computers and software literacy, including formal account management tools like Salesforce.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in building and initiating physician relations through a sales orientation.
  • Knowledge of Stark, Anti-trust, and kickback laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain close connections with community physicians regarding targeted hospital services.
  • Execute growth goals to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual metrics.
  • Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to leadership on sales encounters and activities.
  • Develop a bridge plan with leadership if metrics are not being achieved.
  • Allocate time to building relationships with physicians and identifying their needs.
  • Research physician clients and gather market information to create profiles prior to visits.
  • Perform routine sales calls and visits with community physicians and their office staff.
  • Coordinate internal sales activities with other departments responsible for sales efforts.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with physicians and their staff, facilitating problem resolution.
  • Participate in monthly meetings with service line directors and hospital personnel to coordinate activities and set target lists for future sales activities.
