About The Position

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Market Development Executive in the United States. This role is a senior strategic position focused on shaping demand and influencing long-term growth within the Special Operations enterprise. The Market Development Executive (MDE) will serve as a key advisor, building high-level relationships, driving early visibility for innovative technologies, and embedding solutions into priority programs. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, provide market intelligence, and act as a trusted partner to executive stakeholders, ensuring alignment with strategic modernization priorities. This role emphasizes influence over transactional sales, requiring a mix of strategic planning, operational insight, and thought leadership. Travel and field engagement are expected to maintain strong customer relationships and program impact.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in strategic relationship management, account management, or government relations within the defense industry.
  • Extensive prior USSOCOM or SOF Component Command service, or equivalent civilian/industry leadership experience supporting special operations missions.
  • Established, verifiable network of contacts within SOF AT&L, PEO organizations, and Component Commands.
  • Domain knowledge of SOF operational requirements, procurement pathways, and global mission sets.
  • Ability to operate autonomously while building credibility as a trusted advisor.
  • Exceptional executive-level communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong strategic planning capabilities and “big picture” thinking.
  • Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance, or ability to obtain one within 12 months of hire.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree, experience shaping requirements for rapid acquisition, tactical communications, unmanned systems, EW, or low-SWaP edge networking technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Shape market demand and influence capability requirements within Special Operations Forces (SOF) and related organizations.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with senior leadership across USSOCOM, Component Commands, and other relevant agencies.
  • Provide continuous market insight and intelligence, capturing trends in tactical communications, networking, and spectrum operations.
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders across Sales, Engineering, Product, Capture, and Executive Leadership to deliver unified strategies.
  • Act as executive sponsor for strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment between solutions and SOF operational needs.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Market Development Plan, including pursuit milestones, capacity planning, and pipeline growth.
  • Represent the organization at senior DoD, SOF, and industry forums, promoting thought leadership and advancing the adoption of new technologies.
