About The Position

Support of the culinary team in proper order execution, food preparation and cleanliness in a high level of dedication. This position will gain experience by working with and around Chef Joseph Leonardi, CMC, AAC, who is 1 of 72 Certified Master Chefs in the Country.

Requirements

  • Ability to prep and plate up ala carte and special event appetizers and entrees
  • Responsible for maintaining par stocks of daily items
  • Ability to read daily event orders and prep sheets
  • Ability to accommodate special requests from members
  • Engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner while cooking in an open or semi-open kitchen
  • Adapt quickly to guest requests and dietary requirements
  • Participate in menu development or specials as needed
  • Assist in other areas of the kitchen when required
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in food preparation position is required
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.; work in an upright standing or sitting position for long periods, may fluctuate. May handle, finger, grasp, and lift objects and packages. Reach with hands and arms, communicate, receive, and exchange ideas and information. Ability to navigate the property/building quickly and efficiently to meet the job functions; complete all required forms.

  • Follow and maintain culinary standards set by the Sous Chefs
  • Represent the St Andrews brand with a clean, composed, and knowledgeable presence.
  • Monitor stock levels and communicate needs to the chef or supervisor
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cooking area throughout the shift
  • Work closely with other cooks, prep staff, and front-of-house team members
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and labeling of all food items
