The Market Business Partner is responsible for the operational, financial, and partnership performance of venues within their assigned portfolio. This role ensures alignment between venue operations, financial goals, and hotel partner relationships while fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. This position serves as the key integrator between Customer Experience, Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Training, FP&A, Transitions, and Specialty Services (Rigging, Networking, etc.) to ensure seamless execution of company initiatives. Both the Market Business Partners (MBPs) and Regional Business Partners (RBPs) roles will share the same functional responsibilities. However, the distinction between the Market Business Partner and the Regional Business Partner role is, The MBP oversees a defined market or cluster of venues, typically representing $3–15M in annual revenue.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Hospitality, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of Operational, Financial, and Leadership experience
  • Experience leading multiple venues, markets, or teams
  • Advanced proficiency in Financial planning, Forecasting, and Technology tools
  • Proven success leading multi-site operations in the audiovisual, production, or hospitality industry.
  • Strong financial management experience, including P&L oversight.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across matrix teams and organizational levels.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary business leader for the assigned portfolio, ensuring alignment with Pinnacle Live’s enterprise strategies and partner expectations.
  • Own overall P&L performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and margin optimization.
  • Partner with functional and market leaders—including Productions, CX, HR, and FP&A—to execute strategies that drive revenue growth, EBITDA, and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and capitalize on new revenue opportunities through production expansion, innovation, and improved capture rates.
  • Act as a change agent, driving adoption of enterprise initiatives, systems, and standards across all venues.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for hotel partners, maintaining open, professional, and solution-oriented communication.
  • Manage hotel contracts, ensuring timely renewals and favorable terms.
  • Represent Pinnacle Live at partner meetings and events; Address concerns promptly and effectively in collaboration with the Customer Experience team.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Strategic Accounts to identify and pursue new opportunities.
  • Lead financial planning for all venues within the portfolio—setting budgets, managing forecasts, and ensuring reporting accuracy.
  • Monitor market or regional performance metrics (EBITDA, labor efficiency, capture rate, satisfaction) and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to company operating procedures, safety standards, and financial controls.
  • Support venue openings, closings, and transitions to maintain continuity and partner satisfaction.
  • Drive efficiency and profitability through innovative cost management, vendor optimization, and labor alignment.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to Venue Directors, Sales Directors, and other market leaders.
  • Partner with HR on employee relations, performance improvement, and compliance.
  • Conduct and review annual performance evaluations, approve merit increases, and ensure consistent coaching and development practices.
  • Lead succession planning and identify high-potential leaders for advancement.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professional development.
  • Partner cross-functionally across CX, HR, TA, L&D, and FP&A to execute company-wide initiatives.
  • Balance enterprise and local priorities to achieve both regional and corporate objectives.
  • Provide feedback and insights from the field to inform enterprise strategy.
  • Ensure communication flow between venues, market teams, and corporate partners is consistent and transparent.
  • Directly manages a team of exempt and non-exempt personnel, including Venue Directors, Sales Directors, and other assigned leaders.
  • Responsibilities include hiring, coaching, evaluating, and conducting corrective action in partnership with HR.
