About The Position

The Market Access Marketing Director, Specialty at AbbVie is responsible for leading the development and execution of payer strategies for specialty established products and general medicine portfolios. This role involves comprehensive understanding of the US market access environment, including pricing strategy, product positioning, and financial planning, to ensure patient access to AbbVie's pharmaceutical products. The director will collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to drive market-leading access strategies and optimize business performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Advanced Degree/Masters in related healthcare field strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of Pharmaceutical Market Access, Healthcare or Policy experience.
  • Cross-functional experience including field sales, finance, regulatory, and other relevant business functions.
  • Demonstrate high proficiency in Marketing skills framework: Insights, Segmentation, Positioning, Value Proposition, etc.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build stakeholder relationships.
  • Knowledge of US access, reimbursement, and pricing landscape for pharmaceutical products.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical marketing principles and practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within non-pharma manufacture Healthcare Organizations (e.g., Pharmacy, HealthPlan, PBM, Hospital).

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and execution of Payer Strategy for Specialty Established Products and General Medicine product Portfolio.
  • Deliver strategic impact through formulation and adjustment of business plans to achieve objectives and goals.
  • Engage Matrix and IBT stakeholders to ensure alignment of future Payer Strategy decisions.
  • Maintain awareness of market trends and constituents' needs to determine best course of action.
  • Anticipate internal and external shifts to prepare guiding perspectives amidst evolving Payer and Access reimbursement dynamics.
  • Set tone and priorities for accountability and influence across stakeholders.
  • Use coaching to support performance and development of direct reports.
