About The Position

The Maritime Laborer performs shipboard operational support aboard ship vessels. This position involves working in confined spaces and industrial ship environments to prepare, assist, and clean work areas that may include hazardous materials. The Maritime Laborer supports skilled trades and supervisors in maritime insulation services to ensure daily shipboard operations are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable maritime and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Ability to pass required screening for base access (DBIDS, TWIC, etc.) as needed.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding labor in shipboard and industrial environments.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, squat, climb ladders, crawl, and work for extended periods in confined spaces.
  • Ability to safely work aboard ship vessels and in proximity to water.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and comply with safety procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a crew in fast-paced and hazardous environments.
  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions, confined spaces, and industrial shipboard settings.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in shipyards, maritime, industrial labor, or construction environments preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform labor tasks aboard ship vessels, including work in tanks, holds, voids, and machinery spaces.
  • Set up, maintain, and clean shipboard work areas throughout all phases of assigned work.
  • Provide hands-on assistance to supervisors and skilled trades to meet daily production requirements.
  • Safely use and handle tools, equipment, and materials in accordance with company and maritime standards.
  • Comply with all safety procedures, including confined space entry, respiratory protection, and hazard communication.
  • Follow oral and written instructions and adhere to established jobsite procedures.
  • Perform work in varying weather conditions and physically demanding shipboard environments.
