About The Position

In support of the Critical Infrastructure Protection team, the intelligence analyst shall communicate effectively orally and in writing, to include the capability to convey complex operational, technical, and/or political-military concepts; develops and effectively employs multimedia presentations to this end. Highly adept at evaluating, interpreting, and integrating all-source intelligence and open source information into top-level assessments. Effectively applies knowledge of advanced research methodologies and analytical techniques and/or collection management systems to complex work assignment. Evaluates and integrates all-source intelligence information to produce/contribute to tailored intelligence products in response to customer requirements. Draws on board expertise to effectively interact with senior intelligence community/industry/other analysts and/or experts in assigned discipline(s)/focus area(s). Prepares and produces initiative reports and briefs for executive level audience, such as CNO and Navy staff elements, that demonstrate extensive knowledge and comprehensive analytical expertise. Identifies, evaluates and/or facilitates reporting from collectors in response to requirements, and provides guidance/feedback to field elements that support analytical efforts. Possesses broad-based, expert knowledge of assigned discipline/focus area, its customer base, and attendant requirements, and makes effective/innovative use of product line/vehicles available to satisfy requirements. The analyst must have a detailed knowledge of the Intelligence Community (IC) including the interactions and responsibilities of the major components such as DIA, NSA, etc. Has an understanding and knowledge of Naval Intelligence’s roles and responsibilities both at the National level and within the fleet. Has detailed knowledge of the intelligence process sufficient to produce briefings and written products to a wide variety of high level audiences. Have full performance level knowledge of intelligence collection, collation, research, and production and their respect roles in Service level intelligence. Has knowledge related to security requirements especially those related to working with IT systems within a SCIF space. Incumbent serves as an intelligence analyst in the Critical Infrastructure Protection Division at the Office of Naval Intelligence.Individual must be an experienced professional capable of performing highly complex research and requirements coordination within ONI and with external DoD and IC partners.Individual works within a team and assists the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and other analysts (requestors) with formulating intelligence products.Individual will be required to use all available resources to perform comprehensive research which results in unique, fusion analyses contained in value-added assessments in support of Critical Infrastructure Protection.

Requirements

  • Specialized training ESRI, GALE, ARCGIS
  • Credentialed subject matter expert or recognized specialist in relevant field.
  • Familiarity with GALE analytic tools
  • Must possess at least a TOP SECRET Special Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance. + successful counterintelligence polygraph.

Responsibilities

  • Collects, analyzes, interprets, evaluates and integrates complex data from multiple sources in assessing the relevance and significance of developments in his/her assigned area(s), and in preparing new or revising prior intelligence products.
  • Maintains data bases for intelligence assignments required to process all-source material and the production of technical or operational intelligence in his/her assigned area(s).
  • Identifies intelligence gaps.
  • Uses initiative and resourcefulness in deviating from traditional methods or researching trends and patterns to propose new methods, criteria, or policies.
  • Responsible for carrying out the assignment, resolving most of the conflicts that arise and implementing policy in terms of established objectives.
  • Conduct tracking, analysis and reporting on the location and operations of assigned Vessels of Interest (VOI).
  • Maintain tactical awareness of assigned VOIs.
  • Conduct all-source analysis on threats to critical infrastructure.
  • Incumbent represents TAC / ONI within the Intelligence Community and other customer-related forums.
  • Identifies critical intelligence gaps facing the Navy and works with other analysts
  • Assists in representing CIP requirements at appropriate DOD and IC working groups and meetings.
