About The Position

The Welder Fabricator accomplishes lay outs, fabrication, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifications of equipment, parts, components both Ferrous and Non-Ferrous alloy materials and systems according to specifications with minimum oversite.

Requirements

  • Understand welding fundamentals and basic processes (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW,GTAW/TIG).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
  • Practice consistent arc length, travel speed, and electrode angle.
  • Perform cutting, shaping, and fitting tasks (including oxy-fuel cutting and grinding).
  • Identify and report weld defects and equipment malfunctions.
  • Multi-process proficiency: TIG, MMA, MIG/MAG.
  • Ability to weld different joint types and positions.
  • Familiarity with AWS welding codes.
  • Accountability for quality and safety.
  • Demonstrates accountability by accepting responsibility for their actions and decisions.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience with aluminum and stainless-steel plate and pipe welding.
  • Experience TIG and MIG
  • Must pass AWS certification test for 3G and 4G (plate) and 6G (pipe) positions after employment.
  • Must be able to read and write clearly and legibly.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure.
  • Must have a valid and clean driver’s license is required.
  • Must be able to stand and work for 8 hours a day.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • 7 – 10 years’ experience in the marine industry fabricating tuna towers, railings and accessories.
  • Professional welding certifications (AWS, ABS, or equivalent).
  • Additional certifications in advanced welding techniques.
  • Previous experience in industrial or marine environments

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding in all positions, including complex joints and orientations.
  • Utilize multiple welding processes: GTAW (TIG),GMAW Steel MIG, FCAW,GMAW Aluminum MIG, SMAW, following AWS and or Shipyard standards.
  • Execute welds on various joint types such as lap, tee, fillet, and tube-to-plate.
  • Work with aluminum and stainless-steel plate and pipe, ensuring high-quality welds.
  • Interpret and apply welding codes and specifications accurately.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and safety throughout all tasks.
  • Take responsibility for workmanship and ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
