About The Position

KCI Technologies is hiring a Marine Structural Engineer-in-Training to join our team in New York, NY. This opportunity is intended for Spring 2026 graduates, with the position starting in Summer 2026. The role involves performing work that includes conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment. Assignments include design and development, testing of materials, preparation of specifications, process study, research investigations, report preparation, and other activities of limited scope requiring knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in a specific, narrow area of assignments. The engineer will work collaboratively with internal and external partners on multidisciplinary design/engineering projects, coordinate the work of Engineers and others who may assist on specific assignments, and review input from Project or Technical Managers to make necessary adjustments and corrections to work products. The position requires performing work in a timely and effective manner within assigned schedules and budgets. Experience on all phases of design as well as provided construction administration/bid phase services is preferred, along with field experience and the ability to work with clients, contractors, and other disciplines. EIT is preferred, and the ability to obtain it within one year is required. The candidate should be a multi-tasker with the ability to perform structural design and development of construction drawings for concrete, wood, and steel structures.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited Program.
  • General knowledge of required design software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Good communication and technical writing skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internships or work experience in the Engineering field.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.

Responsibilities
