About The Position
This position will be responsible for supporting the Safety Compliance team of Disney Cruise Line, assisting the Manager of Safety in compliance of the Disney Cruise Line Safety Management System, Disney Corporate Safety Standards (as applicable) and all relevant International, National, Flag State and Local Regulations while continually seeking opportunities for technical safety improvement. This position will help foster a strong safety culture by positive and proactive collaboration with all operational departments including the identification, assessment, analysis, and solving of a broad spectrum of Marine and Technical safety opportunities across the Disney Cruise Line Fleet and Islands. Areas of proficiency and knowledge will include but are not limited to: Engineering or Electrical Maintenance, Technical Operational Management skills of large complex Cruise ships. Areas to include: propulsion systems, auxiliary generators, deck machinery, high voltage electrical installations, air conditioning, steering gear systems, fuel systems, including LNG Fuel systems; electronic Marine Control Systems, SOLAS Safe Return to Port systems, Fixed Firefighting Appliances and Life Saving Appliances, MARPOL pollution prevention equipment and technical damage stability knowledge.
