About The Position
The Department of Marine Resources (DMR) is seeking applicants with strong scientific skills to fill a vacant Marine Resource Scientist III position in the Bureau of Public Health and Aquaculture located at the West Boothbay Harbor Laboratory. This position oversees geographic information system (GIS) and other technological projects for the Bureau including project development, maintenance and management. This position is the oil spill response coordinator for the Department who assesses emergency events, provides closure recommendations and liaises with responder agencies. This position serves as one of the boat captains for the Water Quality Component of the Growing Area West Program, operating small vessels in marine environments. This is a supervisory position that includes the direct supervision of multiple DMR staff members.
