About The Position

The Marine Resource Management Coordinator positions focus on managing marine resource projects related to native diadromous species in Maine, such as Atlantic salmon and American eel. The role involves coordinating fish passage and habitat restoration projects, administering federal grants, ensuring compliance with permits, and conducting fisheries effectiveness monitoring. The coordinators will work closely with various stakeholders, including state and federal agencies, NGOs, and the fishing industry, to enhance habitat connectivity for sea-run fish species.

Requirements

  • Technical expertise in marine resource and aquaculture program management.
  • Experience in developing and implementing complex marine resource conservation projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and technical writing skills.
  • Program management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to convey scientific information to non-scientific audiences.
  • Experience in conducting meetings and building consensus.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Computer skills and willingness to travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two years' direct experience with diadromous species resource issues.
  • Graduate degree in a relevant field.

Responsibilities
