As the Naval Propulsion Controls Engineer, supporting our active contract with the U.S. Navy in the Washington, DC area, you will support and be an integral part of the design, development and upgrades of all propulsion controls systems on all active and future submarines including VIRGINIA and COLUMBIA classes. Bring your expertise in algorithm design, PLCs, automation control and monitoring systems and software, and your collaborative skills to make an impact towards our military defense and safety of our sailors. The NAVSEA 05Z5 Directorate is responsible for the design and development of the COLUMBIA class Integrated Power System that provides power distribution and propulsion for the future ballistic missile submarines, and the design of a new turbine generator to generate all electrical power. They work directly with the shipbuilder for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating all resources required for the design, construction, and Test and Evaluation (T&E) of the future submarine’s power system. They are also responsible for all of the Turbine Generators for generating electricity for all submarine and CVNs. The future Ballistic Missile Submarine is the nation’s top defense priority as the only survivable leg of the nuclear triad.
