Marine/Port Design Engineer - Entry level
About The Position
We are seeking a motivated entry-level engineer to join our marine and waterfront engineering team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional interested in helping plan and design ports, harbors, and waterfront infrastructure that supports communities. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and gain hands-on exposure to projects from early planning through construction while building the technical skills needed for professional licensure. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Strong interest in marine, waterfront, coastal, or heavy civil infrastructure
- Solid analytical, communication, and technical writing skills
- Willingness to learn, collaborate, and grow in a team environment
- Valid Driver’s license in state of residence
Responsibilities
- Support the planning, analysis, and design of port, harbor, and waterfront infrastructure projects
- Assist with engineering calculations, preparation of plans, specifications, and technical reports
- Collaborate with Civil, Structural, Transportation, Geotechnical, and Environmental teams on multidisciplinary projects
- Contribute to feasibility studies, conceptual layouts, and development of opinions of probable cost
- Participate in project meetings, agency coordination, and client discussions as part of the design team
- Assist with construction-phase services, including submittal reviews and field observations
