About The Position

We are looking for a skilled Marine Mechanic to repair and maintain various types of marine engines, including inboard and outboard motors, as well as boat electrical systems. The role involves diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, performing routine maintenance, and assisting clients with marine equipment needs. This position requires working in dockside environments and ensuring customer satisfaction through quality service. Additionally, the Marine Mechanic will provide support to customers both in person and through remote or virtual consultations, advising on necessary repairs or maintenance, ensuring equipment operates according to manufacturer specifications, and maintaining detailed service documentation to support both in-shop and virtual interactions. Candidates must have a modern smartphone with an active internet connection to efficiently manage orders and assignments through the company app. Proficiency in navigating mobile applications, digital platforms, and app-based workflows is essential for seamless task execution and communication. Compensation ranges from $45,760 to $79,040 per year, based on experience and availability.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of experience with marine engines (required).
  • Familiarity with boat electrical systems, wiring, and diagnostics.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Experience in customer service, with the ability to explain repairs and maintenance to clients effectively

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in small engine repair or a related field (preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in marine engine maintenance and repair (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain inboard and outboard marine engines, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems on boats.
  • Perform regular engine tune-ups and oil changes to prevent breakdowns.
  • Conduct detailed hull inspections, identifying and addressing wear or damage.
  • Install and repair boat electrical systems, including navigation and communication equipment.
  • Replace or repair propellers, gear systems, and other key boat components
  • Maintain accurate service records and ensure timely completion of work orders
  • Assist clients with selecting appropriate marine equipment and provide usage guidance
  • Ensure compliance with marine safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace, including proper storage of tools and materials.
