About The Position

Join a waterfront marine service shop in beautiful Southern Maryland, off the Chesapeake Bay. This position offers an exciting, year-round opportunity for a marine engine technician. You will work independently and as part of a team, diagnosing and troubleshooting engine problems while gaining hands-on experience with various types of boats and advanced systems. Requirements

• Experience as a marine technician with a passion for marine engines.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot engine problems.
• Willingness to learn new systems and obtain certifications.

Nice To Haves

• Certifications from factory training (Mercury, Volvo Penta) and ABYC.
• Experience with fiberglass work, upholstery, or major structural refits.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs on inboards and outboards, including large and small engines and diesels.
• Conduct tune-ups, lower unit rebuilds, diagnostics, wiring, and fuel systems.
• Rig controls, troubleshoot steering systems, and hydraulic systems.
• Service outboard and sterndrive engines, including very large engines.
• Winterize, commission, and perform preventative maintenance on boats.
• Occasionally conduct field work and on-water troubleshooting.
• Consult with boat owners as needed.
