The Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Technician at Anchor Sandblasting and Coatings is a pivotal role focused on monitoring and supervising environmental and safety management programs within the maritime industry. This position is essential for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement. The HSE Technician will engage in a variety of professional assignments that include reviewing, investigating, and analyzing workplace health, safety, and environmental operations, as well as production methods in construction and preservation areas. The HSE Technician will be responsible for conducting daily, weekly, monthly, and annual activities that are crucial for maintaining compliance and enhancing HSE performance. This includes performing documented on-site risk assessments and audits, ensuring that all operations and subcontractor personnel have recognized and mitigated hazards, and participating in weekly safety meetings with employees and subcontractors. The role also involves field monitoring and sampling, investigating incidents and near misses, and providing detailed reports to prevent future occurrences. In addition to these responsibilities, the HSE Technician will support operational personnel by ensuring that all risks are addressed and that the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) is available. The technician will also be involved in updating inspection logs, developing and maintaining HSE plans, and conducting new hire orientations.
