About The Position

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Marine Field Technician in Ocean City, Maryland. The Marine Field Technician position is responsible for diagnosing problems and performing standard mechanical repairs and complete overhauls on marine engines and propulsion systems.

Requirements

• Minimum of four years' experience performing major engine repairs, including two years Field Technician experience.
• Strong mechanical background and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to diagnose, adjust and repair malfunctions.
• Excellent customer satisfaction skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office products and service software.
• Must have an excellent driving record.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting advanced electrical Tier IV issues with marine and industrial equipment and control systems.
• Military equipment experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems and perform standard mechanical repairs and complete overhauls on marine engines and propulsion systems.
• Perform vibration analysis for electronic controls.
• Complete service reports and provide pertinent details for work orders.
• Work with limited supervision and prioritize workload while providing excellent customer service.
