TMMG is seeking an experienced Marine Engineer / Naval Architect / Field Engineer to support on-site engineering execution at Eastern Shipbuilding Group (ESG), Port St. Joe, FL, in support of two 400-Class Multi-Purpose Supply Vessels (MPSVs) currently under construction. This position supports TMMG’s Engineering Design Team (EDT), which provides engineering services to Military Sealift Command (MSC), the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Coast Guard, and commercial maritime operators. The role is focused on delivering practical, executable engineering solutions that support shipboard operations, shipyard installations, modernization efforts, troubleshooting, testing, and vessel delivery. This role reports to the assigned Project Lead Engineer / Lead Design Engineer and serves as the on-site engineering presence supporting waterfront execution. The Field Engineer is expected to operate with minimal supervision, take ownership of assigned engineering issues, and actively manage technical, schedule, and execution risk as construction progresses. All work is performed in accordance with TMMG’s ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, with strong emphasis on engineering judgment, configuration control, constructability, cost and schedule awareness, and first-time acceptance. This is a hands-on, field-focused role intended to bridge the gap between design intent and shipyard execution. The successful candidate must be comfortable working on the vessel, interacting directly with shipyard trades and supervisors, and resolving issues in real time as construction advances toward completion, trials, and delivery. Duration & Continuity This position is expected to run through July 2026, aligned with construction, testing, and delivery milestones for the two 400-Class MPSVs. There is a strong likelihood of extension through vessel completion, trials, and post-delivery support depending on program needs. Why This Role Matters As construction advances, risk shifts from design to execution. This role exists to: Reduce rework Prevent small technical issues from becoming schedule problems Maintain alignment between engineering, production, and the waterfront Provide continuity of engineering judgment through late-stage construction and delivery
