About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Marine Electrician with proven expertise in building, packing, and sealing Multi-Cable Transits (MCTs) aboard naval and commercial vessels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in shipboard electrical systems, cable installation, and NAVSEA or maritime safety standards. This role requires hands-on technical skill, attention to detail, and the ability to work in confined and industrial shipyard environments.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Marine Electrician in a shipyard or maritime environment
  • Demonstrated experience building and packing Multi-Cable Transits (MCTs)
  • Knowledge of MCT systems such as Roxtec, Nelson, or equivalent
  • Ability to read and understand shipboard electrical drawings and specifications
  • Experience pulling and terminating power, control, and fiber optic cables
  • Familiarity with NAVSEA standards and shipboard installation practices
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in physically demanding conditions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Nice To Haves

  • NAVSEA Cableway or MCT certification
  • Fiber optic termination or testing experience
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • Experience aboard U.S. Navy vessels

Responsibilities

  • Install, build, pack, and seal Multi-Cable Transits (MCTs) in accordance with NAVSEA and shipyard specifications
  • Pull, route, support, and terminate electrical, fiber optic, and communication cables through MCTs and ship structures
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, cable schedules, and penetration drawings
  • Install and secure cableways, hangers, brackets, and penetration hardware
  • Perform continuity testing, insulation resistance testing, and basic troubleshooting of shipboard electrical systems
  • Ensure fire-stop integrity and watertight sealing of all penetrations
  • Label and dress cables to meet shipboard standards and quality requirements
  • Follow all safety procedures related to confined spaces, hot work, fall protection, and electrical hazards
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with shipyard safety policies
  • Coordinate with other trades including shipfitters, welders, painters, and engineers
  • Document completed work and report discrepancies or deficiencies to supervision
