About The Position

The Marine Electrical position at Solvere Technical Group involves providing essential support services for the electrical maintenance, overhaul, and upkeep of small boats for the United States Coast Guard (USCG). The candidate will be responsible for a variety of nonsupervisory tasks that include dismantling, repairing, relocating, modifying, maintaining, aligning, and installing marine electrical equipment and systems. This role requires a practical working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic marine systems, as well as an understanding of the operating characteristics of the machinery and equipment involved. The employee will collaborate with a team to perform mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance on USCG vessels, while also being capable of working independently to accomplish tasks. Responsibilities include performing equipment assessments, identifying failures, and conducting repairs and replacements of various components, including small boat sponson collar systems and trailer components. Regular maintenance tasks will involve electrical testing, cleaning, programming, and troubleshooting using various tools such as voltmeters and ammeters. The role also includes conducting operational testing and quality inspections on boats prior to delivery, managing progress, and ensuring compliance with USCG standards and contractual guidelines. The position requires the ability to operate a forklift safely and may involve travel to pick up and deliver boats across the continental US. Candidates must possess a high school diploma, a valid TWIC card, and a clean driving record, along with experience in marine electrical work and proficiency in Microsoft applications. The role is part-time and offers a competitive salary range, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
