The position involves conducting design, analysis, studies, evaluation, and recapitalization of electrical circuits, power monitoring and control systems, electric propulsion, and power generation. The role requires performing performance studies and developing reports, drawings, or specifications related to electrical power and generation. Additionally, the candidate will evaluate the effect of new or modified electronics on overall system performance and must possess knowledge of the U.S. Navy Power Distribution Architecture. Responsibilities also include reviewing and adjudicating system design specifications, test requirements, Departures from Specification (DFS’s), Request for Waiver (RFW), and Engineering Changes (EC’s). Familiarity with USN, USCG, ABS, and/or commercial ship design rules and regulations is essential.
