About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Marine Engineering or related field.
  • Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain a clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance.
  • 15 years’ documented experience working in one of the following specialized fields: electric propulsion, machinery control, power generation or distribution systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and coordinate review efforts for verification and validation work related work efforts in the Electrical Engineering discipline.
  • Review design review comments submitted by junior engineers and advise decision-makers on considerations for high impact and critical design review decisions.
  • Coordinate and lead review and adjudication of system design specifications, test requirements, Departures from Specification (DFS’s), Request for Waiver (RFW), Engineering Changes (EC’s).
  • Lead effort to evaluate new or modified electronics on overall system performance.
  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. Navy Power Distribution Architecture.
  • Extensive Knowledge of USN, USCG, ABS and/or commercial ship design rules and regulations.
  • Provide mentorship to junior electrical engineers.
