This job is primarily responsible for scheduling, ensuring security, and dispatching inland tug boats moving barges. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, establishing priorities, securing equipment and resources applicable to work order, maintaining records and processing paperwork, providing various reports, and consistent communication with all staff and tugboat personnel. Additionally, this job may dispatch staff in response to incidents and emergency requests from vessels. In this job, you will: Actual responsibilities will vary depending on daily needs location(s) supported. Ensure daily dispatch logs are kept current and all information is up-to-date; information utilized with customer billing. Evaluate situations and take action independently to solve problems. Work closely with internal operations to develop logistics solutions for customers. Work to keep fleet security a priority. Coordinate dock breakdowns and set up with shipyard. Coordinate efficient movement of barges in and out of fleets. Coordinate logistics of tow building with the arrival of line boats. Coordinate boat tows to and from destinations for maximum efficiency. Coordinate barge schedules with shipyards and customers. Assist management with fleet operations. Follow all company policies and procedures as it relates to operational difficulties. Other duties as assigned.
