About The Position

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Marine Deck Electricians for projects located in and around Newport News, VA. This is a first shift opportunity with a pay range of up to $37.31/hour based on experience plus $140/Per Diem to Travelers 60+ miles from the job site. Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years in the electrical field (Industrial, Marine, or Commercial Nuclear applications)
  • Active DOD clearance required
  • Ability to read and interpret shipboard electrical installation drawings, wiring tables, schematics, and work packages
  • Able to work independently with proper instruction
  • Physically able to: climb vertical/inclined ladders, crawl, bend, stoop, work at heights, and work in confined spaces
  • Must pass Stud Shooting training class and associated vision test (administered by NNS)

Responsibilities

  • Use electrical meters and test instruments (voltohm meters, clamp-on ammeters, insulation resistance testers, meggers, etc.)
  • Lay off and mount electrical equipment and wireways
  • Install cable penetrations in equipment, bulkheads, and decks
  • Install cables, make terminations, perform cutting and hookup
