About the position

The Marinator position involves operating the marinator tumbler, mixing ingredients, and recording pertinent information on designated forms while communicating with supervisors and support staff. The role requires adherence to marination instructions and paperwork, as well as tracking batch times and temperatures. The Marinator will also participate in team activities and support the implementation of best practices within the team. This position is essential for maintaining quality and efficiency in the marination process.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all instructions for marination mixture and product flow are followed and comprehend the marination paperwork.
  • Set up paperwork and scales prior to the start of shift and order all seasonings and ingredients needed for that day's orders.
  • Track time of batches from start to finish and communicate product needs for each batch.
  • Take temperature of marinator mix and each batch marinated during shift.
  • Assist in marinating for other lines as needed.
  • Work with process control to weigh pieces of product per batch and document weight.
  • Record any downtime for the department.
  • Participate as a member of the team and attend appropriate team meetings.
  • Identify areas lacking cohesiveness and work with the team to resolve issues.
  • Maintain familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems and communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
  • Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of prior experience, preferably in poultry or food processing.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Ability to perform basic math and have basic computer skills.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain company-issued pallet jack certification.
