About The Position

The Lead Mechanic is a highly-skilled mechanic who services and repairs electrical and mechanical equipment on marine vessels. They are tasked with the overseeing all repairs and maintenance of all marine engines including outboard motors and inboard motors from the mechanics in the department.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must have own tools and reliable transportation.
Mercury Technician Certification
Knowledge of Mercury product
Knowledge of G3 software
Knowledge of MercNet

Nice To Haves

Five Years Lead Shop Manager Experience
Knowledge of all other brands of outboard engines

Responsibilities

Responsible for supervising and coordinating all repair and maintenance duties.
Prioritizes and distributes work according to the most urgent needs.
Perform repairs and maintenance as required.
Processing warranty claims.
Works on complex mechanical problems for Mercury motors.
Diagnoses problems and repairs as required.
Follow and enforce safety rules, OSHA regulations and administrative and operational policies and procedures.
Excellent knowledge of hydraulic and electrical engines and other systems and their components.
All other duties as assigned.
