About The Position

As a Marina Equipment Operator plays a key role in the daily operations of the boat yard by supporting vessel handling, grounds maintenance, and the safe and efficient movement of boats and equipment. This position relies heavily on having marine forklift experience. This position works closely with service, marina and operations to ensure a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment while delivering excellent service to customers. This location has a Boatel indoor storage facility as well as outdoor storage. TPG Marinas is a nationwide owner and operator of marina businesses and other waterfront real estate. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1-3 years experience preferred.
  • Basic boat handling skills preferred.
  • Experience with a forklift, travel lift and other vehicles required.
  • Ability to work on-site at Sunset Harbor.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Able to stand for extended periods and occasionally kneel, stoop, bend and twist in tight areas.
  • Comfortability with ladders and confined spaces is required.
  • Ability to work in the elements regularly.
  • All candidates must be ready, willing, and able to work a fully flexible work schedule that may include days, nights, weekends and holidays to meet the fluctuating business demands.

Responsibilities

  • Launching and hauling sailboats and power boats
  • Moving boats around the yard and in the Boatel.
  • Operate front end loader and hydraulic trailer
  • Detailing and compound and wax
  • General boat upkeep and minor repair
  • Bottom painting
  • Shrink wrapping
  • General handy work on yard assets as needed
  • Ability to lift 50-60lbs as needed
  • Valid drivers license required
  • Follow TPG Safety and Environmental rules, willingness to take training.
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area.
  • Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.
  • Any other duties as assigned by TPG Marinas and the direct Manager.
