About The Position

The MarComm Specialist is a generalist position designed to provide a dynamic introduction to the discipline of marketing and communications in healthcare. This role offers exposure to the diverse functions within the department, empowering the team member to explore various facets of MarComm and discover their individual strengths and passions. Through hands-on experience with campaigns, content creation, analytics, and strategy, the MarComm Specialist gains the foundational knowledge to determine the next step for specialization within the field. Specifically supports marketing & communication needs as assigned and directed, works with and assists MarComm Strategist team members on market projects, and coordinates the production of collateral materials, social and TeamTalk posts, PR opportunities, internal communications, and market events. The Marketing Specialist participates as a Baton Rouge Marketing team member, establishes efficient job filing systems, and facilitates social media posting, Team Talk posting, PR/Media facilitation, Google reviews an dother reputation management, project management assistance, and more. Participates in hospital internal and external projects, develops effective working relationships with others, assists in developing marketing policies and procedures, and strives to promote personal performance quality in an effort toward promoting a positive hospital image.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one to two years of relevant experience, which may include applicable internships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools, social media platforms, and basic analytics.
  • Detail-oriented with a creative mindset and the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn and enthusiasm for exploring various marketing and communications disciplines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field may substitute for two years of experience.
  • Basic photography and videography skill is also a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Marketing Projects Assist in the planning, execution, and evaluation of integrated marketing and communications campaigns.
  • Support content development for multiple channels, including digital, print, social media, and events.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure brand consistency and message alignment across platforms.
  • Contribute to market research efforts, including audience analysis, competitor reviews, and performance reporting.
  • Manage and update content for the organization’s website and social media accounts.
  • Help coordinate logistics for events, promotions, and press activities.
  • Assist in the creation and editing of marketing materials such as newsletters, blog posts, graphics, and presentations.
  • Monitor key marketing metrics and support the preparation of regular reports for leadership.
  • Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to generate creative ideas and solve challenges.
  • Advertising and Media Relations Assists with the collection of information and support for of all phases of advertising including print and television production for major branding and product line campaigns.
  • Collaboration and Partnership Serves as a liaison to departments within the hospital by attending meetings and aiding in the development of marketing strategy and materials.
  • Coordinates service delivery and provides overall marketing/communication support for assigned product lines and affiliates.
  • Oversees communication needs for assigned product lines by acting as a liaison between the department and other areas and physicians.
  • Coordinates with staff to proof work and oversee outside vendors in an effort to ensure timely project completion and the provision of quality services by the department.
  • Participates as a member of the Marketing team by offering creativity and idea-sharing for concept development and marketing strategy evaluation.
  • Promotes the quality and efficiency of his/her own performance through participation in staff educational programs, approved continuing education courses, and specialized skill training programs.
  • Participates in outside professional development organizations.
  • Other Duties As Assigned Provides support in case of other team members' absence.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested - we work together and roll up our sleeves to deliver, regardless of role or position.
