About The Position

This position is responsible for writing percussion parts for the marching band field show and other incidental performances. During the first semester, this music will be taught, cleaned, and revised to produce polished performances. In the second semester, the instructor will plan and execute a clinic and audition process to select drumline and front ensemble members for the following season.

Requirements

  • Experience in competitive drumline and front ensemble at the high school, college, and/or drum corps/WGI levels
  • Experience writing percussion parts for field shows
  • Experience teaching percussion music and technique to high school drumlines and front ensemble
  • Ability to hold clinics and run the audition process for selecting drumline and front ensemble members
  • Ability to work as a member of a larger marching band staff
  • Ability to comply to the required schedule needed for teaching at rehearsals and supervising performance events (to be determined by Stacey Peterik)
