About The Position

Why Patients Need You The MAP Process Engineer – TPM Technologist owns “end-to-end” equipment performance and works with Reliability and Maintenance Engineers to learn and implement techniques to continuously improve Aseptic Services, Prep, Formulation, Filling and Freeze Dry area reliability and efficiency in the Modular Aseptic Processing (MAP) Mod 1 facility. Manages and coordinates the maintenance, improvement, installation and repair of the assigned area equipment, utilities and process automation/network systems. Accountable for effective implementation and sustainability of Asset Care Program and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) element. Assist in the execution and monitoring of equipment performance as part of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Maintenance Excellence Programs. Collaboration with the personnel from the Engineering and MAP departments in troubleshooting and process improvement efforts (i.e. training personnel in SMED techniques). Perform Operator Care tasks as needed, Will train operators and technicians’ lower level on processes and equipment in their assigned area. Drives complex defect elimination.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree with any years of experience, or associate's degree with 4+ years of experience, or high school diploma (or equivalent) with 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes

Responsibilities

  • Know and follow compliance and safety standards and procedures: Designs SOPs on the use and maintenance of production equipment as required.
  • Plays an active and leading role in the promotion of safe work practices particularly in the area of equipment operation, cleaning and set-up.
  • Applies mechanical, electrical and basic instrumentation/process control expertise in the development of operating procedures for the MAP Mod 1 operational departments.
  • Lead relevant shared investigations with technical, compliance, operations process team members.
  • Apply safety policies and GMP knowledge in daily operations involving self and other team members (i.e., BASE, LOTO Lock Out/Tag Out}, PPE Personal Protective Equipment} utilization, 5s, housekeeping, gowning, good documentation practices, and cross contamination prevention, etc.).
  • Perform daily safety inspections (BASE).
  • Participate actively in process improvement projects: Exhibit Company values and work in a team environment to accomplish individual/team goals in MAP Operations.
  • Responsible for identifying, developing and implementing proposals on equipment or process improvement, which will result in process or product enhancement.
  • In collaboration with Operators, Equipment and Process Specialists optimize machine performance.
  • Support Process Specialist with Just Do It (JDI) and Continuous Improvement Stories (CIS) completion.
  • Perform diagnosis and troubleshoot complex equipment and processes: Troubleshoot equipment as necessary; perform adjustments and minor mechanical operations.
  • Ability to perform troubleshooting using the main HMIs or SCADA control systems.
  • React to equipment alarms to identify root causes and solve alarm conditions.
  • Acknowledge and reset alarms.
  • Provides mechanical, electrical and basic instrumentation /process control expertise on equipment.
  • Works from verbal and written instructions, drawings, job aids and sketches.
  • Seeks input from vendor on issues and documents successful solutions in central maintenance database.
  • Manages and coordinates the work of contract personnel on repair and maintenance work as necessary.
  • Perform comprehensive troubleshooting using automation infrastructure system (PLC, SCADA, PAT, Data Historian, etc.).
  • Increase OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) through improved equipment reliability: Recommend and perform (if required) predictive and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Participate in equipment failure investigations to determine root causes and propose solutions.
  • Initiate and implement ideas to improve quality, safety and cost.
  • Assist in equipment and facilities’ upgrade projects, equipment FATs and validation execution.
  • Create recipes for new product presentations or material components.
