Manufacturing Unit Manager

Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Novelis has approximately 13,000 employees in 32 operating facilities on 4 continents. The Novelis Uhrichsville team is seeking a Manufacturing Unit Manager (MUM). The MUM is accountable for leading all aspects of a fast-paced manufacturing unit's operational and technical processes that operate 24/7. The position would be responsible for providing leadership and direction in health and safety, cost, quality, maintenance, and customer delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering
- 10 or more years of progressive leadership experience within the metals industry.
- Proven track record to implement company policies and get results in a complex 24/7 manufacturing operation. Preferably managing groups of 50+ employees
- Knowledge and understanding of budget establishment, cost development, and cost control

Responsibilities
- Manage all operations activities and provide the services needed for the Manufacturing Unit to meet production, operational, and sales objectives.
- Provide strong leadership to the operational teams to develop safe working habits and attitudes. Promote a growing understanding of risk and risk mitigation.
- Build successful teams through effective mentor the team leadership skills: setting and achieving goals, conflict resolution, continual improvement mentality, fact-based decision making, use of data for process control, adherence to work instructions and control plans, etc.
- Direct maintenance and reliability programs; ensure achievement of preventive maintenance targets in manufacturing unit
- Interface routinely with all department leaders to ensure production, quality, and safety continually improve within Novelis EHS standards.
- Manage expenditures in areas of responsibility to ensure control within budgetary limits.
- Ensure manufacturing excellence and drive continuous improvement activities within MU
- Drive the execution of the production plan.
