  • Comfortable operating a wide range of electronic and production test instrumentation.
  • Ability to design fixtures and tooling for manufacturing and test applications.
  • Experience developing and executing Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Proficient with data driven problem solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, SPC, Cpk).
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot equipment, processes, and test failures.
  • Skilled at communicating and influencing cross functional stakeholders and vendors.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment.
  • 1–5 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, test engineering, product engineering, or related roles.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues using structured methods.
  • Experience with process capability analysis (Cpk) and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Experience supporting production test systems and instrumentation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in C#, NI LabVIEW, or similar test automation environments.
  • Knowledge of metrology and calibration methods for power or electrical measurements.
  • Experience in 17025 accredited lab procedures (calibration or testing).
  • Familiarity with switch mode power supplies, RF matching networks, or power delivery systems.
  • Advanced coursework or certifications in test engineering, automation, or quality engineering are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and optimize production line capacity, driving yield, quality, and cost improvements across multiple business units.
  • Monitor daily manufacturing and test performance, resolve issues quickly, and implement corrective and preventive actions based on data and quality feedback.
  • Develop, improve, and sustain manufacturing and test processes, including designing and maintaining test equipment, fixtures, and diagnostic tools.
  • Create and execute test plans, procedures, and automated test programs to validate product functionality, performance, and reliability.
  • Estimate project costs and schedules for manufacturing and test process changes or new test solutions.
  • Ensure products meet all functional and manufacturing requirements through design verification, manufacturing screens, and process capability analysis.
  • Analyze manufacturing and test system performance, control critical process parameters, and implement improvements to enhance robustness and efficiency.
  • Partner with product design teams to ensure manufacturability, testability, and alignment with cost, quality, and operational objectives.
  • Perform Design for Manufacturability and Design for Test (DFM/DFT) evaluations and provide actionable feedback during product development.
  • Create, maintain, and control manufacturing and test documentation within AE’s Quality Management System (QMS), including Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Support preventative maintenance activities for manufacturing and test equipment to maximize uptime and performance.
  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives leveraging structured problem solving tools and statistical methods (e.g., SPC, Cpk, 8D).
  • Train operators, technicians, and production staff on manufacturing processes, equipment operation, test procedures, and process improvements.
  • Communicate findings, improvements, and cross functional impacts to engineering, operations, service, and leadership teams.
