About The Position

The Manufacturing Technician supports both production assembly and material flow operations within the AY Pump Division. This role is responsible for building booster pump systems while also ensuring accurate inventory handling, shipping, receiving, and internal material distribution. The position combines mechanical assembly, basic electrical work, and warehouse coordination to maintain efficient manufacturing operations and on-time product delivery.

Requirements

  • 2+ years mechanical assembly, plumbing, or pump installation experience
  • 2+ years forklift and warehouse or material control experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Lift up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent standing, bending, and movement
  • Manufacturing/warehouse environment
  • Exposure to noise and moving equipment
  • Required use of PPE

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with pumps, valves, water systems, or controls
  • ERP experience (Epicor or similar)

Responsibilities

  • Assemble packaged water booster systems including pumps, motors, piping, valves, controls, and base skids
  • Follow engineering drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions to ensure accurate builds
  • Perform basic wiring and setup of control panels and VFDs as required
  • Conduct pressure testing, alignment checks, and quality inspections
  • Document production work and update assembly records
  • Communicate quality issues or discrepancies to the lead or the Operations Manager
  • Support new product introductions and process improvements
  • Maintain clean and organized workstations
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment
  • Pick, pull, stage, and distribute materials using Epicor ERP
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and perform cycle counts
  • Organize storage areas for safety and efficiency
  • Assist production team with material availability
  • Receive and inspect inbound shipments
  • Verify quantities and documentation accuracy
  • Prepare and coordinate outbound shipments
  • Complete shipping paperwork and labeling
  • Safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment
  • Perform basic equipment upkeep (charging/fueling)
  • Follow PPE requirements and all safety procedures
  • Maintain organized production and warehouse areas
  • All other duties as assigned
